Ricardo Barrios graduated from Oberlin with a double major in Politics and East Asian Studies. While in Oberlin, Ricardo was a Spanish tutor and translator for the Oberlin Hispanic Studies Department and the NCAA captain of the OC Fencing Club (Flaming Blades). A four-year recipient of the John F. Oberlin Scholarship, Ricardo was selected as the Returned Fellow from 2013-2014 during which time he studied Chinese and microeconomics, taught a Latin Dance ExCo, and helped establish the student Latin Dance group, Azucar, in addition to his work for Oberlin Shansi.


Since departing Oberlin, Ricardo has worked as a legislative assistant to Senator Eduardo Bhatia in the Senate of Puerto Rico and pursued a Master's Degree at Peking University in Beijing. He is currently a program associate at the Inter-American Dialogue's China and Latin America program, where he employs his language training and politics background to analyze China-Latin America relations. He is from Puerto Rico.
