Cory Rogers is a copy editor at the Jakarta Post in Jakarta, Indonesia. During his fellowship, Cory was quite busy inside and outside of the classroom. Cory’s jazz band, “Coriander and the Spice Cabinet,” played throughout the city and even performed a spontaneous happy birthday tune for Hamengkubuwono X, sultan and governor of Yogyakarta. Cory also published two articles in the Jakarta Globe that examined the situation of Indonesian chili farmers, and Islamic environmentalism, and became active in the local arts and film-documentary culture in Jogja. He graduated from Oberlin in 2012 with a double degree in Jazz Performance and History.
