 Echoes of the Potohar

In January 2025, Sarmad began a project documenting pre-Partition sites of multi-faith harmony in Punjab's Potohar region. Through visiting communal landmarks like Banyan trees, Gurdwaras, Mandirs, and Havelis, he worked to preserve oral histories detailing historical interfaith unity. Under the guidance of experts such as Salman Rashid and Chauhdary Ashraf, Sarmad conducted interviews with individuals who lived through the tragedy of Partition. His findings will formed a photo essay and digital archive supporting his personal campaign to advocate for heritage preservation efforts, with the goal of fostering greater global awareness of South Asia's rich yet vulnerable cultural legacy.
