We are thrilled to introduce our newest Shansi Fellows to Japan! Ava Prince ‘18 will teach at JF Oberlin University and Léo Anderson ‘20 will work at the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and local grassroots NGOs in Hiroshima.

Introducing the 2020 Shansi Fellow to India!
This year, Shansi will commence our new partnership with The Keystone Foundation, an eco-development organization based near the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in South India. Our inaugural Fellow is Madeleine Gefke, class of 2020.

Five Oberlin seniors and two recent alumni have been selected as new Shansi Fellows for 2020. These talented, adventurous, and engaged Obies will work with Shansi’s partner NGOs and universities in China, India, Indonesia, and Japan.

Eight Obies are about to embark on their Shansi journey! The newly selected Fellows are Peter D’Auria ’14 (not pictured), Lyric Grimes ’17, Olivia Hay ‘17, Kayla Johnston-Mitchell ’17, Brendan Nuse ’17, Hyacinth Parker ’17, Franklin Sussman ‘17, and Aliya Tuzhilin ’17. The Fellows will spend one to two years living and working at Shansi’s partner institutions in China, India, Indonesia, and Japan.
