Shansi Snapshot: Inspiring New Years' Resolutions since 1908
Shansi Fellows know a thing or two about goals. We say this with confidence because we’ve been working with dedicated, talented, and motivated young professionals for over a century. As you work toward your New Year's resolutions this year, we wanted to share some inspiration from our fellows in Taigu. Fitness is just one of the many aspects of life where they excel.
Change to the Tax Code & Charitable Giving
As 2026 ushers in change, we wanted to make sure you are aware of a change to the tax code that may be of interest to you. Starting this year, taxpayers who take the standard deduction can now claim an above-the-line deduction for direct cash contributions to qualified public charities like Shansi, up to $1,000 for single filers and $2,000 for married couples filing jointly. So please consider starting the year off by supporting Oberlin Shansi with a gift. Other tax advantaged opportunities that may be of interest to you are also available, such as donating appreciated stock or making a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) as part of your IRA required minimum distribution.
